I suck the blood of Bandy's tract.

So I saw "There Will Be Blood" last night. For the record, it is at least 5,376,209 times the movie that "No Country..." was.

I would actually call it probably the best movie I've ever seen. It's coming out in BluRay on the 3rd and I will be buying it.

And just so we're straight, "No Country..." is the shit Daniel Day Lewis wiped off his boot before walking onto the red carpet. He was robbed and some no talent hack with a bad haircut walked away with his metal statue.

For the record, "There Will Be Blood" is one of my favorite films of all time. Thankfully, you were misinformed about Day-Lewis being robbed at the Oscars. He actually won the best actor Oscar this year (and very well deserved, since it was the greatest performance I have seen in years) However, he was robbed of his best supporting actor nom a few years back for "Gangs of New York"

Javier Bardem won best supporting actor this year for 'No Country", and even though I felt (and I know you disagree) that he was good in the film, in my mind the Oscar should have gone to Casey Affleck for "Jesse James"

I actually discovered just after posting this that I was misinformed but thanks for your clarification as well. Still, I feel Blood should have gotten best picture as well.

I saw a preview for the Jesse James movie and I thought it looked lame. Maybe you could offer some insight?

As a long time fan of westerns, I pretty much feel compelled to see any movie released in the cinema involving cowboy hats and six shooters. Don't go into Jesse James expecting a typical action western. Its a very slow moving character study. I honestly don't think you will be much of a fan, but it's worth watching in my opinion.

Personally I found the movie to be very good, and it's characters interesting and well developed. But it runs about 2 1/2 hours, and very minimal "action". As I said, it's a character piece not an Eastwood film.

Jed, "The Assasination of Jesse James..." was not that fantastic, in my opinion. Yet, Justin is correct in his summation of how it plays out, and how it portrays the personality of each character. It's an interesting take on a period piece, and I was disappointed because I went in thinking "American Outlaws 2" (remember when we thought that movie was the shit?).

I, however, cannot stand Casey Affleck. He looks like he's about to cry in every part he plays. He gets on my nerves. In "The Last Kiss" he was on the verge of tears, even during the funny moments. And in "Gone Baby Gone," seriously, who would ever buy this guy as a badass? I know you like him Justin, but he seems like a tool.
